FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Straight answers.
Before you spend money.

What contractors ask about website reviews, design, content, and getting more from the site they already have.

What kinds of contractors do you work with?

I work with home improvement and construction businesses that want their websites to do a better job of explaining their work and helping them win business. That includes remodelers, builders, painters, roofers, and other specialty contractors.

The common problem is usually the same: you do good work, but your website doesn’t make a strong enough case for hiring you.

How do I know whether I need a new website or just a few changes?

Don’t assume you need to start over. Sometimes the layout, content, pictures, or next step needs attention. Other times, the site is getting in the way enough that a rebuild makes more sense.

Start with the free homepage audit. It’s a way to get a fresh pair of eyes on what you already have before deciding what to spend money on.

What’s the difference between the free homepage audit and a paid website audit?

The free audit focuses on your homepage: what it communicates, how it presents your business, and whether a visitor can work out what to do next.

A paid audit takes a broader look at your website and includes search visibility and online reputation. Choose the $299 Basic audit for a written review or the $499 Pro audit for a video walkthrough. Compare the audit packages.

What do I get with the $299 Basic audit?

You get a PDF of the website audit, an SEO report, an online reputation audit, and a summary of recommended changes.

The point is to help you understand what’s working, what’s getting in the way, and what you should address. It’s a review and action plan; redesigning the site or making the changes is separate work.

What do I get with the $499 Pro audit?

The Pro audit includes a video walkthrough of your website, detailed recommendations, an SEO audit, and an online reputation audit.

If you’d rather see the issues explained on the screen, the walkthrough lets you follow what I’m seeing and why I recommend a change. Like the Basic package, this is an audit; implementing the recommendations is separate.

Do you help with the words on my website, or just the design?

The words are part of the work. A better layout won’t fix content that doesn’t explain what you do, how you do it, and why someone should choose you.

I help contractors get past the same claims everyone makes—quality work, customer service, great prices—and explain the differences that matter to their customers. For a website project, we’ll agree on the pages and content included in the scope before work begins.

Can my website help me attract $50,000 or $100,000 jobs?

It can support that goal, but it needs to represent the kind of work you want to sell. The projects you show, the details you explain, and the proof you provide should help a customer understand why you’re worth considering for that investment.

Your website won’t create the right market or close every job for you. It can do a better job of presenting your experience and giving the right prospect a reason to get in touch.

Can you guarantee more leads or a top spot on Google?

No. A website is one part of how someone finds and chooses your business. Traffic, demand, competition, your reputation, and how you handle inquiries all affect the outcome.

I can identify problems, explain my recommendations, and help improve how your website presents your business. I won’t promise a particular number of leads or a Google ranking.

How much does a new website cost, and how long does it take?

That depends on the work: how many pages you need, what content already exists, what needs to be written, and any features or integrations involved.

I’d rather understand the project than give you a number that changes later. We’ll discuss the scope, price, and expected schedule before the project starts. The published audit prices are for the audits, not a new website.

What do you need from me to get started?

Start with your website address and a little about your business: what you do, where you work, the jobs you want more of, and what you think isn’t working now.

For a design or content project, useful material includes good project photos, customer feedback, examples of work you’re proud of, and the details that make your process different. You don’t need polished marketing copy to begin. Start with the free homepage audit or get in touch.
